-character names will be reserved. on early access 27th anything you start doing will not be wiped and kept through the 28th full release.
-i think it will ask you for retail key after u log in.
-installation will be streamed (i think, like after installing the client) or u can use the full game cd and install from there, so there would be less d/ling on the day of release...

no cost difference.
only difference is the exclusive item that comes w/ the pre-order access key. and without the pre-order access key = no exclusive item @ start of full release.

you can also read the sticky about pre-orders if u still want more info.

has anyone seen this. your 1st charac has a guild and when you played your second charac @ lvl 1, did it already have a cape, or just the tag w/o a cape. which will that mean it can make another cape design w/ the same guild name...or be forced to buy the existing guild cape design...etc...

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking whether or not, if a guild has already acquired a cape, a character created afterwards will have to purchase a cape for themselves...

The answer to that would be no. The price for creating a cape is only paid once, by the Guild Leader. Any characters in the game will automatically have that cape, and any characters created on accounts that belong to a guild will be created with that cape.

One more tidbit that you should be aware of however, is the fact that on release NO guilds will have capes, or halls. See Fansite Friday #42 for more info about this.

Which brings me to my own question: Can guilds without guild halls still engage in Guild vs. Guild battles? And if so, where do they fight?

Also, If I remember correctly, the ferryman who takes you to the various guild halls so you can make a selection was in Lion's Arch. Does this mean that no guild will have a hall until one of their officers (or perhaps only the Guild Leader) has made it to LA?

beta events are done.
u can play on the 27th (early access) w/ the pre-order key.
u can register your account for now.

the public last played on april 15th-17th the last beta weekend event.
no one is playing...the servers are not open to the public at this time.

Ok... I was given a guest key by a friend for the last BWE, I have since pre ordered this from my local Game (I live in UK). This is not an online pre-order or anything like that. Now, can the guest key be used in the 48 hours prior to the release? I was not given any type of key when I pre ordered my copy, but technically I have pre-ordered it. I am so completely lost lol

This is how I understand the pre-order situation stands. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

No one can play at the moment. The official release is the 28th (U.S.A. Date). If you pre-ordered the game and have the retail key in hand you will be able to play the game on the 27th. Some places will allow you pick up the game at midnight on the 27th. I pre-ordered online and checked status this morning. EBgames shipped the box on Friday and my tracking number shows the item as, in transit for delivery today.

I have pre-ordered the game from Play.com (UK), will I be able to play on the earlier date of 27th or do you have to pre-order from specific places to qualify. Like 'Yentl' (a couple of posts above this) I haven't received a pre-order key although technically I feel I qualify to play early.

well i just contacted game, they said that they are not aware of anything, and will not be allowed to sell the game to me until friday, which totally sucks. unfortunately there isnt really anywhere else i can get it from. if only someone could confirm use to a guest key

call your local EB store. the official street date is the 28th. generally, vendors get into big trouble for releasing media prior to the street date.
